Nirbo: it's images/screenshots/*.png now!

edit: I edited all my previous posts to point to the correct URLs.  at some point when I was transferring the screenshot from 05-09 it got messed up, so it doesn't work anymore sad.

another edit: why did I refer to dynek as Nirbo!?

That screen-shot almost makes me want to try fluxbox!  Nuts ...

Oh, yeah, I do have some wm2 screenshots posted up on my server in the images/ folder (wm2.png, and wm2-menu.png, I believe).

May Science bless you.

Re: Post your screenshot

Well, here's a shot of my reworking of wm2 which I've dubbed "jwm2" for the time being.

Well, all you can see is the cosmetic changes I've made so far.  But all I've done is changed the trapezoidal tabs to rectangular tabs, so it's not that much at the moment.

1. what did you take that screenshot with, the compression makes it look like shit.

2. where did you get that torrent of the x-files, all of the ones I've downloaded have gotten error 400's from the tracker sad.

3. e17 looks pretty cool I guess smile.

I have X-Files seasons 2,3 & 4 as avi files...I'm looking for something to create torrents of them, but I'm not too versed in torrents - that's why I have a FTP site...

If you have bittorrent installed, try btmaketorrent

... and then they said "I bet you can't make MINIX kernel panic!!!" And that's when I got mad

Re: Post your screenshot

Is e17 really worth all the hype? I don't really see the big deal about it. Also, I heard e17 has it's own compositing manager. How is is this in comparison to xcompmgr? Yes eyecandy junk, but I'm curious.

1. I took the screenshot with GIMP but there's a 250KB size restriction on photobucket.com so I had to use a lousy jpeg.

3. e17 looks awesome in my opinion. Truth be told I did have some stability issues with it and it's not the best wm for slow machines but wait for the release and then give it a shot - then you'll be able to make a proper judgement.

Re: Post your screenshot

looks good, what are you running, btw you live in Sri lanka right? I told randacs this but he said you are indian, and live in india

For example, Linux had at least two completely independent USB stacks before Linus Torvalds rejected them both and wrote a third one from scratch, after he found both existent Linux  stacks unsatisfactory.  (When pressed for an explanation as to why he selected the API he did, Torvalds stated: "because I wanted to."

Re: Post your screenshot

Hi, my name is ibs and I'm an eye-candy junkie.

Instead of getting stucked for days on skinning and colouring I realised I had to leave those wm's alone. I therefor installed larswm a year or two back and fell in love. Of course you can configure most wm's to be controlled by the keyboard, but with larswm it's a pleasure. No titlebars or other stuff to steal your focus. Well, that's not really true, there is a statusbar which serves as titlebar as well, but that's all there is (the clock on my screenshot is an addon called larsclock). It's the perfect environment for active computing.

Since all you people have been talking about e17 I'm afraid I have to give that a shot once it finds it way to the ports. If I get stucked on themeing etc I WILL hold you people responsible! ;-)

Enough said, let's enjoy my screenshot.
