Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

Hi WIntellect,

At first, thanks for your reply.

Too bad that you don't know how maildrop works. You were sort of my last hope after searching for a solution so long... What method do you use to remove spam from your inbox? I know that there is maildrop and procmail...

Greetings!

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

Seeing as SpamAssassin flags the spam rather well, I simply use the filters of my mail client to auto-delete them

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

Ah, client side mail filtering was not an option for me, because I have a lot of Webmail/IMAP users.

Anyway, I figured it out and I have put up an HOWTO in addition to your HOWTO for those that would like the same configuration that I've got now. The HOWTO can be found here

I noticed - good job!

How many users do you have on your NetBSD mail server, out of curiosity?

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

I'm having about 30 users now for that particular server, the list is still growing. And because most of them were Hotmail users, they are used to some kind of Webmail interface smile

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

Hi,

I have a configuration which almost works.
I am using maildrop to deliver messages to directory, but i do not think it is the problem.
When i send a mail to two or more users on the same domain, only the first receive it.
here is an extract from my maillog

May 19 01:13:38 myserver postfix/qmgr[13412]: 5B21D70017E: from=<jsender@
sender.domain>, size=1232, nrcpt=2 (queue active)
May 19 01:13:38 myserver postfix/pipe[10232]: 5B21D70017E: to=<receiver1@receiver.domain>, relay=maildrop, delay=0.1, delays=0.07/0.01/0/0.02, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered via maildrop service)
May 19 01:13:38 myserver postfix/pipe[10232]: 5B21D70017E: to=<receiver2@receiver.domain>, relay=maildrop, delay=0.1, delays=0.07/0.01/0/0.02, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered via maildrop service)
May 19 01:13:38 myserver postfix/qmgr[13412]: 5B21D70017E: removed

Do you have an idea ?

Thanks,

Jean-No

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

Do you have "maildrop_destination_recipient_limit=1" in your main.cf file?

When you add that line maildrop will handle the recipients one at a time. It should work that way.

I did not have this line. I was not sure about its meaning.
Thank you very much, it works now.

I just have less than 10 users on that particular server.

I was only asking because I wanted to find out what sort of load he was applying to his email server with this configuration

Why don't you just delete the whole user account. It's not like it'll be used for anything productive.

Re: PostfixCourierIMAP MySQL Virt. hosts + optionals ClamAV & SpamAssassin

True.

In the other hand we have a ton of unused accounts. Wouldn't it be possible in the first place to remove them using an sql query/script ?
